First Tee is a youth development organization that began in 1997 as a partnership among the LPGA, the Masters Tournament, the PGA of America, the PGA TOUR, and the USGA. Its mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf. First Tee creates active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. It prepares kids for life on and off the course and describes its participants as game changers. First Tee provides all kids with access to opportunities for personal growth in a fun and safe environment. The organization has also expanded by bringing its program to physical education classes across the country through in-school and after-school programs.
