About

Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County – John & Marge Bolton Club in Port Salerno is part of an organization that offers Workforce Development Programs with skilled trades training, career exploration, virtual training, culinary arts, drone piloting, and Manufacturing 4.0 coursework. These programs include hands-on learning experiences and the chance to earn credentials relevant to a prospective employer. The club is one of four Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County locations, along with Hobe Sound, Palm City, and Indiantown.

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The organization began in 1989 when Hobe Sound resident Margaret “Peggy” Cole and Hays Clark founded the first Boys & Girls Club in Martin County with 165 children, and it has grown to four clubs with thousands of members. The clubs provide a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, and hope and opportunity. The John & Marge Bolton Club in Port Salerno is led by Executive Director Bryan Moriera. Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County partners with Truist Foundation, which provided a $60,000 grant to support Workforce Development Programs, including the skilled trades, culinary arts, drone piloting, and Manufacturing 4.0 coursework. Founder Hays Clark was honored with the Herbert Hoover Humanitarian Award, which is the highest tribute the Boys & Girls Club of America can give to a volunteer.
