Do the Right Thing of Charlotte County selects five local Charlotte County children each month from a pool of nominees. Each child receives a trophy, certificates, gifts from local businesses, a certificate of recognition from the Chief of Police, and a "Do the Right Thing" T-shirt.

About the provider

Do the Right Thing of Charlotte County was adopted by the Punta Gorda Police Department in 1995. The executive director is Lieutenant Justin Davoult. Principals, teachers, parents, business leaders, and community members are encouraged to nominate children for the award.

Children may attend any school or be home-schooled in Charlotte County. Funded solely through donations from corporate sponsors and community members. Donations are tax deductible.
