Cross Bridge Learning Center

Cross Bridge Learning Center includes weekly chapel that incorporates age-appropriate worship through music and stories, along with Bible lessons and activities that are interwoven into each classroom’s weekly lesson plans. Children participate in special presentations from friends in the community, including visits from local organizations such as the Fire Department and the Brevard Zoo. The program also offers optional activities such as dance and soccer, as well as special Christmas and Spring programs during Sunday morning services for toddlers and preschoolers.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday with class and care options between 6:30am and 6:00pm
• Price: Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is a free, high-quality education program. Our VPK program runs Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm. This program is free of charge. For an additional cost, VPK wraparound care is also provided from 6:30 am – 6pm.

Cross Bridge Learning Center has nine classrooms for children from three months old through VPK, and each classroom is arranged into areas with age-appropriate learning centers. The program is a faith-based, play-based learning center that uses the Simply Loved curriculum for chapel and the WEE Learn curriculum, which is faith-based and meets the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards. The VPK program focuses on early literacy and math standards as well as principles of Christian faith and includes three VPK classes to provide smaller class sizes.

All 32 staff members have high school diplomas, have completed The Office of Early Learning courses on Safe Sleep Practices and Child Safety and Prevention, passed a Level II background check, and are First Aid, CPR and AED certified. Staff credentials also include 24 staff members who completed 45 hours of DCF training and passed competency exams, 8 with an Emergent Literacy Micro-Credential from the University of Florida, 9 with Becky Bailey Conscious Discipline Training, 8 with an Associate’s Degree, 9 with a Bachelor’s Degree, 2 with a Master’s Degree, 7 with a DCF Staff Credential, 6 with a National Child Development Associate (C.D.A.) and 2 more pursuing a CDA credential in spring 2025, 2 with a DCF Director’s Credential, and 1 with Food Safety Certification. The Learning Center leadership team includes Executive Director Shadira Bylinowski, Operations Director Fallon Vogt, Learning Center Administrative Assistant Melanie Fink, Behavior Interventionist Bethany Sperry, VPK Mentor Teacher Linda Shomgard, Pre-VPK Mentor Teacher Annalee Deem, and Infant Mentor Teacher Melissa Bertrand.

Cross Bridge Learning Center states its mission as “Helping people move from where they are to where God want's them to be,” and believes that by providing hands-on, exploratory, educational experiences children grow in their development socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively. The program was nominated for Florida’s Best 2025 and won this award in their region and operates under License #C18BR0052. Cross Bridge Learning Center partners with the TEACH Scholarship program to further the education of their staff and is a provider of the USDA Child Care Food Program, offering meals and snacks that provide balanced nutrition with alternatives for children who have food allergies; meals are made fresh each day. The program partners with the Child Care Food Program and enjoys many special presentations from friends in the community, in addition to optional activities such as dance and soccer.
