Since 1995, the Wellington Soccer Club has been the travel soccer provider for players residing in the Village of Wellington and the Western Communities of Palm Beach County. The club states that all players are encouraged to achieve their personal best proficiency levels and are supported by WSC’s employment of top quality coaches who have proven credentials. The mission statement also notes that players are encouraged to excel athletically, academically, and socially by supporting their teammates and respecting outlined standards for good sportsmanship.

The club’s mission includes preparing players for participation in high school soccer programs, as well as District, State, and Regional level ODP training when appropriate, and providing exposure, recruiting assistance, and parent education for players showing the motivation and ability to attract collegiate acceptance and consideration. The mission further states that WSC will build relationships with other soccer organizations nationwide, including college coaches and development programs such as ODP.

The leadership team includes roles such as President (Gerry Toney), Vice President – Operations (Mike Spuches), Vice President – Boys (AJ Bachmann), Treasurer (Natalia Velasquez), Vice President – Girls (Angel Najera), VP – Community Relations (Melissa Long), Secretary/Club Admin (Joanna Sasso-Hoover), Director of Coaching (Patrick Zoete), Field Assignor (Pete Lillo), Bookkeeper (Kim Sullivan), Registrar (Dana Garraputa), Concession Manager (Giselle Mendez), Assistant Concession Manager/Scheduling (Keneesha Brown), Assistant Concession Managers (Katie Price and Marc Canchon), Referee Assignor (Shanoy Raghuraj), League Reps (Leah Arico and John Allen), NPL/SEFPL Rep – Girls (Natalia Velazquez), League Rep – TFL, EDP (Angel Najera), College Recruiter (Jorge Montero), and Uniform Coordinator (Jessy Bacuylima).

According to the community involvement statement, WSC forms partnerships with local organizations such as government entities, community businesses, and similar groups to support the club’s financial needs and provide scholarships to players. The club also states that it builds a soccer community support system by creating parental “ownership” for running the organization, and that membership participation through volunteerism is required to support the club’s stability and alignment with its Service Provider Agreement through the Village of Wellington.

The club lists that it is a proud member of Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), and notes that ECNL-R is a top-tier soccer league in the State of Florida. The program also notes unique features such as the phrase “Experience the Wave ATTRACTIVE. INSPIRED. INTELLIGENT. DARING.” and the Wellington Wave App, which offers exclusive access for registered WSC families to stay up to date.
