About

Safety Harbor Art and Music Center Youth Programs include workshops, performances, exhibitions, Art Salvage, tours of the SHAMc Complex, Open Mic Nights, art project add-ons to tours, and Summer Camps. The programs take place in a colorful art environment that features mirror mosaics on the exterior of the building and a giant pink elephant out front. Phones are allowed at Summer Camps as long as participants use them for creative purposes such as photography or making videos.

• Schedule: Open Wednesday–Friday from noon to 5 pm, and Saturday–Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays except for concerts and special events.

The programs are part of a nonprofit organization and community space that celebrates art and music and is powered by volunteers and community partners and sponsors. The mission of Safety Harbor Art and Music Center Youth Programs is to promote knowledge of and education in the fine arts, the visual arts, and the performing arts. The building is ADA compliant, with wheelchair-accessible spaces including SHAMc's ODDitorium, boutique, art studios, and restrooms, as well as designated ADA and handicapped parking spaces directly in front of the building. Children 4 and under are free on tours, and an art project can be added to tours upon request. Open Mic Nights are available for local musicians.

Safety Harbor Art and Music Center opened its doors in 2015, and over 290 people volunteered to help create the mirror mosaics that cover the outside of the building. The leadership team includes co-founders Todd Ramquist, Kiaralinda, and Heather Richardson, along with Director Autumn Pearson and staff members in roles such as marketing, operations, volunteer coordination, donations, photography, sound engineering, and board leadership. Outside beverages are not allowed at the venue because it is a licensed venue.
