Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County After-School and Summer Programs include educational programming, time for homework completion, and games and activities. Participants stay active outdoors, engage in the latest technologies, and during the summer take field trips to area attractions.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: After-school hours during the school year and full-day hours on school holidays and in the summer, Monday through Friday
• Price: For the after-school program, families pay a one-time application fee of $30 as well as a monthly fee. Fees are published in the parent portal. 100% and 50% scholarships are offered to families who may need it.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The organization serves nearly 1,000 children each year through its after-school and summer programming and is part of a national network of affiliated clubs. The leadership team includes a Board of Directors led by co-chairmen Bill Allard and Paul Hanson, and Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth Thomason; each Club is managed by a full-time Club Director and a full-time Program Director, with numerous part-time professionals.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County have been named an Agency of Excellence by the United Way of Indian River County and Organization of the Year by 2-1-1 Helpline of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. In late 2017, Consumer Reports named Boys & Girls Clubs of America as one of the “Best Charities for Your Donations,” and The Chronicle of Philanthropy has recognized Boys & Girls Clubs of America as “the nation’s #1 youth-serving organization” for 23 years in a row. In 2018, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County was named one of the Top 10 Charities to Watch nationally by Charity Navigator.
