At least one staff role is identified as a Certified Personal Trainer.

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA was founded based on the core character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, and in 1889 the first YMCA facility in Tampa was built as a 50,000-square-foot building funded entirely through contributions from individuals. The first YMCA facility in Tampa brought the city its first gymnasium and indoor swimming pool. The organization’s mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Tampa YMCA focuses on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility, and its core values are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The Y states that it works to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race or sexual orientation, has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity.

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, and the YMCA is described as the largest and oldest service organization in America. Community support from individuals and local partnerships helps the Tampa YMCA address critical community needs through program scholarships and free offerings. The Tampa YMCA continues its partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning as part of the “Patch With A Purpose” program, and the Cancer Survivorship Program Powered by Moffitt is mentioned as one of its programs. The Tampa YMCA, along with all those it serves, expresses gratitude for partners that help make a difference in the lives of thousands of kids, adults, seniors, families, and cancer survivors in the community.
