Camp Challenge

Camp Challenge includes campfires, hiking and nature walks on a trail, and playing a variety of sports, games, and water activities such as swimming. Campers take part in music, drama, theater groups, karaoke, dances, and social events, as well as hands-on arts and crafts projects that use different materials to create sensory responses. The program also offers time at a target range, sensory integration activities at a farm, and shared cabin living with family-style eating at most meals.

Camp Challenge serves individuals primarily with physical and/or developmental disabilities and offers overnight sessions throughout the year for children over 6 years of age and adults of any age with disabilities and special needs. The camp is part of Easterseals Florida and is open to campers from any Florida county and from out of state. Cabins are designed to allow camper independence with support and supervision, and the entire facility is fully accessible for those using wheelchairs or with other mobility challenges. Camp Challenge offers nursing care for campers who may need to take medications or receive medical intervention during the day. The mission of Camp Challenge is to offer individuals with disabilities and special needs the opportunity to engage in specific programming that supports exploring interests while enhancing independent living and social skills at a secure, 61-acre camping facility.
