Camp Lingua was founded in 2000 by the Pares family, who have over 26 years of experience and continue to provide daily guidance and leadership each summer at the West Palm, Fort Myers, and Broward locations. The camp describes itself as Florida’s premier bilingual summer camp experience and South Florida’s most trusted bilingual summer camp, with bilingual staff and a multicultural global community of campers from around the world. Its mission states that, since 2000, it has focused on transformative bilingual experiences where children learn naturally, play authentically, and grow confidently through outdoor adventure, cultural exchange, and meaningful human connection in a screen-free environment. Camp Lingua uses an Enter-Training® method and Enter-Training® methodology that combine entertainment, training, and neuro-linguistic programming for accelerated bilingual learning, and also offers the Lingua Academy Microschool, which it describes as reimagining education for K–12 students.
The camp notes that its campuses are 100% owned and that it owns its land, which it links to investing in excellence and rural preservation, better facilities, lasting improvements, and a commitment that goes beyond the season. It describes world-class facilities that include air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms, a ranch with natural lakes, shaded pavilions and covered areas, air-conditioned classrooms and a rec hall, age-appropriate playgrounds, a professional equestrian arena and stables, and a full dining hall with indoor and outdoor areas, and states that its three ranch properties are privately owned. For retreats, groups can rent the entire 10-acre campus, and for private events and birthday parties, families can use the ranch venue.
Camp Lingua states that its staff is highly trained, background-checked, and committed to creating a safe, fun environment, that every staff member is over 18, and that each has completed at least one summer as a counselor-in-training, with many working there year-round. The camp reports that the founders’ passion and vision earned the camp state recognition. Testimonials from parents at the Loxahatchee and Broward campuses describe professional and friendly counselors and staff, a variety of organized activities such as Go Karts, dirt bikes, horseback riding, a zip line over a lake, archery, and animal interactions, and children who have attended since kindergarten and continue returning as they enter middle school.
