About

Summer Camp includes traditional camp activities along with STEM and swimming. Campers use a family pool and outdoor pool for swimming and have access to a gymnasium, group exercise classes, an outdoor track, racquetball and handball courts, a playground, strength and cardio equipment, a Kids Zone, meeting rooms, and the YMCA children’s academy.

Each Suncoast YMCA Summer Camp location offers traditional camp activities with different themes throughout the week. YMCA of the Suncoast members save on select Summer Camp programs and have access to hundreds of streaming classes, programs, and activities through YMCA360.

The YMCA of the Suncoast operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Its stated mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA describes itself as a cause-driven, non-profit charity with a value-based environment where caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are incorporated into everything it does.

With more than 160 years of experience, the YMCA states that its mission is achieved one person at a time. YMCA of the Suncoast reports that it connects, teaches, and provides healthy spaces for people of all ages, and notes that swim lessons, Teen Leaders Club, and a Diabetes Prevention program are supported by donors.

For families preparing for Summer Camp, the program lists specific items for campers to bring: a morning snack, lunch, two additional snacks, a refillable water bottle, a towel, a one-piece swimsuit, sunscreen, and a sweater or sweatshirt because rooms are often cold. Campers are required to wear closed-toed shoes every day for camp.
