• Ages: 5–18 years old

South Florida Homeschool Resource Center, SFLHRC, serves families in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties as a central hub for both the homeschooling and “afterschooling” communities, offering a range of educational and enrichment programs. Its stated mission includes providing a warm, welcoming environment that represents a range of ethnic backgrounds, nationalities, languages spoken, races, religious beliefs, gender identities, political affiliations, and educational philosophies. The center also offers a microschool program with distinct cohorts: a Lower Elementary cohort for ages 5–7 that follows a Montessori-inspired, literature-rich approach; an Upper Elementary cohort for ages 8–11 that uses a literature-rich, project-based, STEAM-infused model; a Lower Middle School cohort for ages 10–12 that is entirely project-based with technology integration, arts, and a block-style multidisciplinary model with no homework, traditional testing, or unnecessary stress; an Upper Middle School cohort for ages 12–14 that uses a project-based, interdisciplinary, block-style model with no homework, no tests, and no stress; and a High School program for ages 14–18 that is fully individualized around each student’s post-secondary goals with a personalized four-year academic plan and project-based, student-centered learning without homework, high-stakes testing, or unnecessary pressure. Pre- and post-care hours are available for an additional fee, and SFLHRC states that it intentionally cultivates an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while nurturing potential, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning through a microschool model and integrated, project-based curriculum.

Parent testimonials describe staff who are caring and dedicated, teachers who are warm, kind, enthusiastic, and patient, and communication from leadership that keeps parents informed and involved. Several parents report that their children enjoy the classes, feel appreciated and valued, and are eager to return, with one family noting they drive 30 minutes each way to attend and another sharing that their child registered for four days in the microschool for the 2025–2026 school year after enjoying earlier classes. Parents also mention that the center hosts “marvelous Mondays” classes, offers constant educational experiences for homeschool children, and has been a helpful option for families transitioning from public or other school settings into homeschooling.
