Moccasin Stables Horsemanship Programs offers lessons, summer camps, shows, and other equine activities. Participants can ride in dressage and jumping, take part in clinics with several different quality horse trainers, and enjoy pleasure riding. The program also offers boarding.
Moccasin Stables Horsemanship Programs includes a full size sand dressage arena that is dragged daily, a round pen, a spacious jumping arena, a play field, tack rooms, wash racks, a clean bathroom, 12x12 well maintained stalls, trailer parking, grazing pastures, and multiple acres in an open, gated paddock. The program is family owned and operated and practices Natural Horsemanship in horse care and training. The property includes twenty-six acres of land on the northeast side of Leon County, a specialized jumping gated ring with one-of-a-kind horse jumps, three barns, very large paddocks, and multiple acres available in an open, gated paddock that boarders can use for pleasure riding. There are professional trainers on the grounds who teach dressage and jumping.
Julia and her daughter, Valeria, are the owners of multiple horses that specialize in dressage and hunter jumping. After moving to Tallahassee, Florida, in 2003, Julia bought her first horse and trained him extensively, earning him multiple awards including Dressage Championship Training Level. The stated mission of Moccasin Stables Horsemanship Programs is to provide the opportunity to create a lifelong partnership between horse and rider, to introduce and instruct boys and girls of all ages in effective and positive horsemanship through lessons, summer camps, and shows, and to create a peaceful and positive environment where individuals can reach their highest potential and gain self-confidence and self-esteem through equine activities. Moccasin Stables is a provider of Step Up For Students, which offers tailored scholarships for Florida’s PreK–12 students. Moccasin Stables LLC was selected for the 2022 Best of Tallahassee Award in the Equestrian Riding Center category by the Tallahassee Award Program.
