Tallahassee Museum Camps & Youth Programs are part of an institution whose mission is to inspire people to transform their lives, community, and the world through an enhanced understanding of the region’s natural and cultural environments. The Museum holds APPLE Accredited and Gold Seal Quality Care Preschool Program credentials. What began as the work of a few teachers in 1957 grew into the current Museum, which took root on its present grounds in 1960. Russell Daws has stewarded the Tallahassee Museum along with its Board of Trustees, and the Museum states that sustainability is practiced each day and that it works to encourage others in the community to practice sustainability. Testimonials describe repeat visits for ziplining, enjoyment of the ropes course and zip lines as a family outing, and long-term connections to the Museum through volunteering and internships.
