• Schedule: School break camps and day camps, plus additional workshop and program options throughout the year

Tallahassee Museum Camps & Youth Programs take place within a museum that features wildlife exhibits and nature trails with boardwalks where visitors can see bears, deer, wolves, and more in a natural setting, as well as a Wildlife Trail focused on red wolf species survival. The museum setting also includes Big Bend Farm, which recreates life in the 1880s, two centuries of North Florida history on display, colorful Jim Gary’s Twentieth Century Dinosaurs sculptures made from old car parts, a Birds of Prey Aviary with eagles, owls, and hawks, and sustainability initiatives practiced each day. The program operates within an APPLE Accredited and Gold Seal Quality Care Preschool Program.

The Tallahassee Museum began with the work of a few teachers in 1957 and moved to its current grounds in 1960, and Russell Daws has stewarded the museum along with its Board of Trustees. The museum’s stated mission is to inspire people to transform their lives, community, and the world through an enhanced understanding of the region’s natural and cultural environments. Testimonials describe repeat visits for ziplining, positive experiences on the ropes course and zip lines with helpful and friendly staff, long-term connections dating back to the era when it was known as the Tallahassee Junior Museum, and internship experiences supported by museum staff.
