About
Westchase Impact Martial Arts offers martial arts classes that include exercise, obstacle courses, fun and games, and lessons on life. The program also offers opportunities for kids to do homework, enjoy pizza and beverages at certain events, and take part in field trips.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Price: $49 for 2 weeks of classes and a t-shirt
Westchase Impact Martial Arts offers Day Camps, Winter Camps, Spring Break Camps, and Summer Camps, with half day and full day camp options. Summer camps have a different theme each week and include martial arts, obstacle courses, and many other physical activities on the mat, and full day campers go on field trips one day each week. The program also runs an after school program that includes school pickup and transport to the studio.
The program offers karate birthday parties where the child cuts their birthday cake with a real samurai sword and breaks a wooden board. It also hosts Parents Night Out as a structured party that includes martial arts, fun and games, pizza, and beverages. Instructors offer practical methods and techniques for one-on-one or multiple-attacker situations and against someone holding a weapon.
Westchase Impact Martial Arts describes its environment as attracting people who are open-minded, enjoy socializing, and enjoy having fun, and describes parents whose kids train as caring and supportive and adults who train as kind and fun. The studio is described as being like a family. The leadership team includes Alexey Petrov at Westchase Impact Martial Arts. The program states that there are a few simple things that make a good martial arts school a great one and that they work their hardest every day to fulfill those things and give their students the best experience they possibly can.
Families from Westchase, Odessa, Eagles, and Waterchase are noted as being close enough to train with this program. One parent, Laura Adams, shared that her daughter started working with Mr. Petrov at age 5, continued to love class, and later earned her Black Belt in Taekwondo while still training. Another parent, Melina Byers, reported that her son has been with Westchase Impact Martial Arts for about 8 years and described the studio as taking time and care with each individual student and promoting integrity, confidence, discipline, and self-control while treating the family like family. A third parent, Kim Parrish, stated that her two sons love taking classes, are in the Leadership Program learning discipline and confidence along with physical workouts, attend the After School Program, Summer Camps, Friday Parents Night Out, and tournaments, and described Impact Martial Arts as the best studio in the area compared with other studios they had tried.
