Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay began in 1926, when the Tampa Rotary Club founded the West Tampa Boys Club, the first Boys & Girls Club in Florida. It operates 41 Club sites across Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties, including before- and after-school programs and community-based Club locations. The organization operates Community Impact Sites, Traditional Clubhouses, Law Enforcement Partnership Clubs that include a sheriff’s substation and a full-time deputy, and Strategic Impact Sites such as the Jordan Park Food Pantry, a Pinellas High Innovation school partnership site, and the Liberty Workforce Innovation Center. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay focuses on five strategic areas: Belonging & Opportunity, Academic Success, Health & Well-Being, Leadership & Community Impact, and Teen & Workforce Readiness, and has a stated aim to be the benchmark for youth development in America by 2035. The organization partners with entities including the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, St. Petersburg Housing Authority, Pinellas High Innovation, Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation, Hillsborough County Children's Board, Tampa Housing Authority, the United Way, the City of Plant City, and the Optimist Club of West Tampa.
