About

Kids Discovery offers programming for infants, toddlers, twos, preschool children, Voluntary Pre-K students, elementary-aged children in before- and after-school care, and summer camp options. The program uses COR Advantage-certified, observation-based skills assessments and provides meals and snacks that meet USDA guidelines. Entrances use restricted access, staff monitor live-view closed circuit cameras, and a separate “Boo-Boo Room” is used for ill children waiting for pickup, with three separate playgrounds available for specific age groups.

• Ages: 0–12 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 am–6:00 pm

Kids Discovery has more than 20 years of experience. All staff are required to be trained in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid, and all teachers are trained to recognize each child’s developmental progress through age-appropriate milestones. Initial employment and continuing education requirements include health, safety, nutrition, trauma, and other topics, and all caregivers must complete 10 in-service hours of professional development every calendar year, with employees able to take part in unlimited training opportunities.

The program’s stated mission is that it takes a team to grow a child into adulthood, that every child deserves caring adults, opportunities to learn, safe environments, and a sense of belonging, and that children should be embraced within a caring, safe environment where they can learn through play. The mission also states that a positive approach is the best approach, that praise creates good attitudes toward learning and builds self-esteem, and that learning should be a happy, rewarding experience for both child and teacher.

Kids Discovery operates under DCF License Number C01OK0161 and is COR Advantage-certified to provide observation-based skills assessments. It is one of many child care centers, public schools, and specialized instructional service providers that offer Florida Voluntary Pre-K (VPK). The program and its families, staff, and children participate in community efforts such as Relay for Life, The Ronald McDonald House, and appreciation activities for essential healthcare employees and military personnel.

One parent from Gulf Breeze reports having both a four-year-old and an 18-month-old enrolled, states that the family transferred the younger child from another daycare, and says the teachers care about the children and the parents, are serious about cleanliness and health, and that they would not send their children anywhere else but Kids Discovery.
