Ecology Summer Camp includes Ecology Summer Camp sessions and access to trails and exhibits for the general public. The program takes place within a world-class natural laboratory that has been studied by scientists for nearly 85 years and includes a 10,500-acre cattle ranch where conservation ecology meets agricultural economics. Ecology Summer Camp offers fun-filled weeks for kids ages 7–12.

Founded in 1941, Archbold stewards ancient scrub habitats of the Lake Wales Ridge, ranchlands, wetlands, and waterways that flow into Lake Okeechobee. Its mission is building and sharing the scientific knowledge needed to protect the life, lands, and waters of the heart of Florida and beyond. Archbold provides long-term data and objective guidance to conservation organizations, land managers, government agencies, and decision-makers in Florida and around the world. Biologist E.O. Wilson has described Archbold as “one of America’s iconic centers of continuous research and education in field biology.” Richard Archbold is the founder of the Archbold Biological Station.
