About

Pasco County Summer Day Camp runs as a 7-week summer program that includes weekly field trips as part of the camp fee. All participants must bring their own lunch and snack each day, and each child must be able to use the restroom independently.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: June 16–August 1, 2025, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with options for the first 4 weeks or the final 3 weeks; no camp on July 4; before and after care available 7:30–8:30 a.m. and 5:00–6:00 p.m.
• Price: $630 for the summer ($90 per week); before and after care costs an additional $20

To participate in Pasco County’s Summer Day Camp, each child must have completed kindergarten, be able to follow directions, perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance, and be comfortable in a 17:1 camper-to-counselor ratio. If a child would benefit from a lower camper-to-counselor ratio, families are directed to the EPIC program, which is an inclusive summer camp with a 1:4 camper-to-counselor ratio, trained staff, and an Inclusive Support Leader on-site at each EPIC location, for children of varying abilities, including those with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Summer Camp Counselors are selected and screened through interviews, background checks, and FDLE Criminal History reports, and the program seeks individuals with a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children. Counselors receive training in safety, discipline, recreation, sports, and behavior management.

The Summer Day Camp Resident Youth Scholarship Program offers 35% off the total price of camp for up to two children per family, with a limit of two children per family per calendar year, and scholarships are not available for before and after care. Applicants who receive scholarships from other agencies are ineligible, scholarships depend on available funds, and scholarship funding does not guarantee a camp spot.

The Summer Day Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) program is for ages 13 to 17 and allows teens to gain experience working with children in a recreational setting by assisting with camp activities. Breakfast and lunch will only be provided by the school board at select locations, which are still to be determined. New for this year, the camp uses lottery registration.
