About

Science Camps includes hands-on activities such as wildlife spotting, studying invasive species of Florida, crime scene investigation tactics, learning about the 5 senses, and discovering meteorological phenomena. Campers take part in astronomy- and paleontology-themed science activities, ocean-themed science activities, and myth-busting science activities, and they can learn the science behind practicing medicine and how food gets from farm to table while using technology used in hospitals and doctor’s offices. The program also offers team-based wilderness competitions, opportunities to design, code, and develop a video game using Scratch, design, build, and code a space rover, program a robot to complete missions, participate in an esports tournament, explore 3D modeling and printing, compose, produce, mix, and master music tracks, and practice film writing, shooting on location, and editing, as well as pen-and-paper tabletop roleplaying games where campers create characters and solve problems and puzzles in a group, alongside activities that support foundational arithmetic, geometric and spatial understanding, critical thinking skills, reading comprehension, and writing abilities.
