Club SciKidz Atlanta Summer Camps was established in 1997. The program offers over 70 themed science summer camps for grades PK–7th in the Atlanta Metro area and states that its programs are designed to meet the needs of children ages 4–15. It also offers 30 weeks of inquiry-based after-school science club experiences, as well as after school STEM programs, science assemblies, in-school field trips, scouting badge workshops, and home school sessions.
Club SciKidz was founded on the principle that parents want to provide their children with exciting, challenging, and life impacting academic enrichment experiences. The program notes that its science lessons are carefully researched and developed with the help of teachers and children, and that it uses hands-on experiments and projects. Club SciKidz has received STEM.org Recognition and describes itself as “Fun, Safe & Scientific!” One of its resources is a book titled “The Every Day Science Teacher – a teacher's toolkit of standards-aligned lessons, experiments, activities, and classroom materials for a full year of elementary science.”
Owners Bob and Sue Hagan have a combined 30 plus years of teaching experience and both hold a Master’s Degree in Education. The listed leadership team identifies them as the owners.
Club SciKidz operates franchise locations across the United States and conducts in-school programs in the Metro Atlanta area.
Parent testimonials describe the camp as having “fun and kind, caring staff” and note that children “came home happy and well entertained.” Other comments state that campers “learned so much and had a blast,” that the teenagers and young adults facilitating activities “were GREAT,” and that children enjoyed “the variety of activities, the fun experiments, and the interaction with the other kids and counselors.” Additional feedback includes that it was “their favorite camp of the summer,” that it was a “safe environment, fun activities, great hours,” and that the program was “organized and well run.” One parent mentioned “really loved getting to know the teachers and the director” and described “everyone” as “incredibly thoughtful and caring.”
