Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is a national nonprofit serving kids and teens across the United States, Native lands, and military installations through a network of more than 5,500 local Clubs. BGCA reaches more than 4 million children and youth each year with safe spaces, caring mentors, healthy meals and snacks, and evidence-based programs that support academic success, leadership skills, and health and wellness. For more than a century, Boys & Girls Clubs have supported young people during critical out-of-school hours by creating environments where kids and teens can learn, grow, and build positive relationships. Through locally led Clubs and a national support system, BGCA focuses on giving children and youth access to relationships, opportunities, and resources.
The summer camps and programs offer affordable, safe and fun experiences for kids, and Clubs help prevent “the summer slide” with fun learning activities. Summer Brain Gain is a summer education program that connects fun and friendship with a project-based learning approach to keep kids on track for a successful transition back to school in the fall. Boys & Girls Clubs provide safe spaces, caring mentors, healthy meals and snacks, and evidence-based programs focused on academics, health, and leadership. The network of more than 5,500 local Clubs serves more than 4 million children and youth each year.
The camps and programs are led by trained and caring adults, with trained staff who guide, coach, and motivate kids to be successful. Since a small group of Club members first went to camp in 1999, the collaboration between Camp Joy and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati has impacted hundreds of kids.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a trusted, top-rated nonprofit that is widely recognized for its transparency and outcomes for kids, and it consistently earns high ratings from independent nonprofit evaluators. Major League Baseball designated Boys & Girls Clubs of America as an official charitable partner in 1997.
“My conversation at the director’s level, meeting the camp counselors, and seeing how happy the kids were to be there all confirmed that the Boys & Girls Club was the best summer program for Elliott.” — Alicia, Mom. “The Club was a safe, affordable aftercare option for my parents. And for me, it was a whirlwind of activities and new opportunities.” — Asha H-R, Club kid.
