About
Druid Hills Child Development Center offers outdoor play, hands-on exploration, and learning through doing. Children play on slides, tricycles, and jungle gyms, and they also have reading opportunities through the Scholastic Book Fair.

The Druid Hills Child Development Center has been serving children and families in the midtown Atlanta community for nearly 50 years and started in 1969. The program offers high quality early education programs from infants to pre-K for a diverse student body of approximately 125 students in 11 classrooms from birth to age 8. The center has 40 full-time primary teachers plus support staff and operates as a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Daily outdoor playtime takes place underneath a canopy of trees on a fully renovated playground with top of the line resurfacing, hills to run and play on, and a tricycle track. The Child Nutrition Program includes breakfast, lunch, and snack prepared fresh daily. Druid Hills Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is a recipient of the highest rating, three stars, through Georgia’s Quality Rated child care program. The center has plans to expand into more of the current building to meet future community needs and has an upcoming Leadership and Training Institute focusing on developing early educators through professional development at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. It is now enrolling young toddlers (1 year olds) and preschoolers, and tours are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 or 10:30 with no appointment necessary. Every day the educators support the development of children socially, emotionally, and cognitively, encourage students’ curiosity, and partner with and support families to create a strong foundation for each child’s future success.
