CMC Atlanta Music Programs is part of a network of five neighborhood community music schools offering an array of historically-informed, innovative music education programs for students of all ages and skill levels. Programs are available for students age 4 and up and are designed to serve beginners through advanced pre-professionals, with a program catalogue organized by age groups. Private Studio Lessons for students age 4 and up are available at all locations on weekdays and weekends, and beginners are welcome in just about every one of the programs.
Studio Lessons are with a qualified and devoted musician. The AfterSchool Music Program (AMP) is an immersive music education and enrichment program providing comprehensive training in Classical, Jazz, Rock, and/or American Folk music, and it offers transportation from local public and private schools to nearby CMC Atlanta locations to help families overcome a logistical barrier to enrollment. Performance Workshop focuses teens on Performance & Projects and plays to the social nature of their age.
CMC Atlanta Music Programs also offers holistic and immersive after school programs, music day camps, gap programs, performance and production workshops, and apprenticeship and artist residency programs for emerging professional musicians and teachers. Day Camps for Kids are themed music day camps for students grades K–5 that strike a balance between a creative, effective music curriculum and fun, with options for beginners or more advanced instrumentalists and vocalists ages 5 and up. Music Day Camp for Kids for grades K–5 is offered whenever schools close, and families can enroll by the week or via Day Passes, with full and half day options and Multi-week, Sibling, and Buddies & Besties discounts available. Summer Performance Workshops & Camps are offered for students in grades 6–8, 9–12, and recent grads, where students meet for week-long sessions to build skills and understanding and prepare for a student-led camp showcase.
Working in collaboration with Capstone Academy, an accredited private school, CMC Atlanta created a high school conservatory program, Atlanta Music High School, which provides a unique educational opportunity for passionate music students in grades 6–8 (Prep) and grades 9–12. Prior to Atlanta Music High School, there was not a private conservatory option for Atlanta teens to pursue rigorous academics and deep immersion in pre-professional musical training, and the educational program culminates in a performance or production portfolio in the student's preferred style(s). Atlanta Music High School was created in collaboration with AdvancEd/SACS accredited Capstone Academy.
