Destined for Greatness Outreach Youth Center Programs

Destined for Greatness Outreach Youth Center Programs offers mentoring, after-school tutoring, summer camp, youth fitness and sports, etiquette training, internship opportunities, and recreational and group activities. The Fighting To Be Heard Youth Mentoring Program matches mentors with elementary, middle, and high school students in one-to-one relationships. Through these mentorships, as well as recreational and group activities, matches share friendship, support, and fun.

• Schedule: Mentors and mentees get together at least once a week, and both commit to spending time together throughout the academic year.

Destined for Greatness Outreach Youth Center, Inc. (DFGOYC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2010. DFGOYC is a non-profit (501c3) organization that provides programs directed toward underserved youth to promote community empowerment. The organization’s mission is to develop today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders. Core values are listed as Leadership, Integrity, Vision, and Focus. The leadership team includes Executive Director James H Kyles Jr, Chairman & Project Manager Chris Eppenger, Treasurer Kiki Hall, and Board Member Fletcher Florence. Many mentors are college students from institutions including Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, Clayton State University, Kennesaw State University, Georgia State University, Morris Brown College, and Oglethorpe University, and approximately 90% of the youth served are raised in single-parent households. Dr. Joel Esperanza serves on DFGOYC’s Board of Directors with experience as an educator and creative professional. DFGOYC states that it is committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where youth can grow, build character, and prepare for a successful future.
