About
Open Door Preschool is a not-for-profit, parent-directed school in a non-sectarian, child-centered environment. The program is the only parent-run, non-sectarian preschool in the CSRA. Open Door Preschool strives to develop a listening ear, encourage a trusting response, and stimulate a joyful curiosity in the seeking of knowledge which will be guided on to more disciplined work.
• Ages: 14 months–6 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–1:30 pm
Since 1964, Open Door Preschool has provided a nurturing environment for children 14 months through kindergarten. The leadership team includes Lauren Foulks, Director, and Ashley Porras, Assistant Director. The mission of Open Door Preschool is to enhance the growth of each child by encouraging a positive self image, promoting independence from home, and fostering the development of responsibility in a non-sectarian, child-centered environment. The Open Door School Board is made up of parents who want to be involved in making the school great and ensuring that the school can be enjoyed by generations to come.
