Open Door Preschool is a not-for-profit, parent-directed preschool program. The school operates under the guidance of a parent-run school board.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–1:30 pm
Open Door Preschool has operated since 1964. In 1964, a group of parents opened the first integrated kindergarten in Augusta, GA, and no child was turned away due to their ethnicity or religion. It is described as the only parent-run, non-sectarian preschool in the CSRA and functions as a non-profit organization.
The mission of Open Door Preschool is to enhance the growth of each child by encouraging a positive self image, promoting independence from home, and fostering the development of responsibility in a non-sectarian, child-centered environment. The Open Door School Board is made up of parents who want to be involved in making the school great and who want to ensure that the school can be enjoyed by generations to come. The leadership team includes Lauren Foulks as Director and Ashley Porras as Assistant Director.
