Bowdon Recreation Department Athletics and Gymnastics Programs include Youth Baseball, Youth Softball, Youth Volleyball, Kinder Gym, Tumbling, Finastics, Gymnastics, Stunt, Cheer Leading, and the Gymstars Competitive Team. The programs also list Bingo and Lunch as specific activities. A child must be at least five years or older to participate in any of the listed programs.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Senior Activities include Bingo at 10 AM and Lunch at 11 AM, with office hours for the 182 Grammar School Road office from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Price: There is a $75 registration fee for all of the sports that are offered, and Lunch costs $4.00; fees are subject to change

Gymnastics classes are taught at Bowdon Gymnastics, which is equipped with Olympic standard equipment, and gymnastics programs are offered in Bowdon, Carrollton, Mt. Zion, Roopville, and Haralson County, and Cleburne and Randolph County in Alabama. The Gymstars Competitive Team is part of the gymnastics offerings. Senior Activities include a weekly social visit and a hot meal, and travel is provided for Senior Activities outings, including periodic trips out of town to places such as Elijay.

The program leadership includes Recreation Director Doug Andrews, Athletics Coordinator Makayla Nunn, Lead Instructor (Gymnastics) Crystal Hannon, Gymnastics Coordinator Candis Bramble, Senior Activities contact Julie Smith, Main Street Director Melissa Wilson, and Municipal Court Clerk Kelley Hall. The City of Bowdon participates in EVerify. The stated vision for the City of Bowdon is to enhance the prosperity and quality of life of its citizens while preserving its rural, small-town character, encouraging diverse economic development and employment opportunities, and protecting historic resources and the environment. Bowdon’s Main Street, launched in 2014, focuses on growing local commerce, supporting small businesses, beautifying the historical downtown district, running programs and fundraisers that stimulate local commerce and community involvement, and holding quarterly merchant meetings to identify opportunities for improvement and encourage local collaboration.
