About
Millennium Academy is part of a best-in-class network of early childhood education schools focused on social and academic success. As part of the Otter Learning network, the program uses an exclusive curriculum in a learning environment filled with activities that are both challenging and fun. Professional educators use recognized and developmentally appropriate milestones in partnership with parents, and students plant, grow, and harvest as part of their experience.
• Ages: 0–11 years old
The mission of Millennium Academy, through Otter Learning, is summed up in the statement: “Be Safe. Be Kind. Grow Together.” Otter Learning’s holistic approach encourages children to ask questions, solve problems, and develop emotional intelligence inside and outside of the classroom. The organization emphasizes respect for and restoration of the environment through its River Keepers community and is committed to teaching students and families to respect and restore their environment, leave communities better than they found them, and keep families active partners in the education experience. Otter Learning has a commitment to inclusion, welcoming all children, families, and team members, and its schools are described as a safe haven (holt) for children and the community to develop independence, make mistakes, and enjoy the freedom of learning. Otter Learning’s intentional school design and natural environments are used to help students develop adaptability and resourcefulness in traditional classrooms and outdoor natural environments.
