Constance Chatmon and her daughter Cherity Chatmon run Sportz Center Academy as a non-profit and operate two facilities with programs that target children, parents who need help, foster kids, and minorities across Decatur. They have run Sportz Center Academy for over thirteen years. Sportz Center Basketball Academy offers ongoing training and development for boys and girls of all ages in passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, and post-work through one-on-one coaching and state-of-the-art technology. The summer camp serves toddlers ages 3 and 4 and boys and girls ages 5–14, and every child in the camp receives free breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Purple Pearls Elite Cheer runs year-round for basketball and flag football, includes two practices a week and free tumbling, and includes a uniform, warm-up, hair bows, and socks. Rec Basketball includes eight regular season games played on Saturdays, a team outing, practice twice a week, playoffs, a banquet and trophy, with games played Friday through Sunday. AAU Basketball includes four local tournaments, play in high-level competition, a banquet and trophy, and a uniform package with uniform, bookbag, and shooting shirt. The soccer program includes a uniform, two practices, eight games plus playoffs. Flag football includes a uniform top and bottom, flags, socks, and a soft helmet.
