Summer Day Camp takes place at the Decatur Family YMCA and is part of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. Campers have access to amenities at the Decatur Family YMCA, including an indoor pool, indoor track, gymnasium, wellness center, group exercise spaces, family locker rooms, and a play center for childcare. The Decatur Family YMCA has been serving the communities of Decatur, Druid Hills, Avondale Estates, Scottdale, Candler Park, and Lake Claire since 1946, and it was one of the first YMCAs in the YMCA of Metro Atlanta Association. The Decatur Family YMCA pioneered Y youth soccer nationally in 1968. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is the oldest non-profit in Atlanta. The leadership team at the Decatur Family YMCA includes Associate Executive Director Erin Davenport and Member Experience Director Ramsay McWhirter.
Reflecting its Judeo-Christian heritage, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta is an association of volunteers, members, and staff, open to and serving all, with programs and services which build spirit, mind, and body. Financial assistance is available based on need, and the YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta offers community outreach programs such as hunger relief, safety around water classes, and chronic disease support, and relies on partnerships with corporate, government, and community organizations to make a collective impact.
