About
Youth Horse Camps includes riding, grooming, care and tack, and horsemanship and safety. Campers take part in a skillset evaluation in the arena, a riding lesson in the arena, trail rides, stall maintenance, and bathing. The program also includes outdoor recreation activities and camp activities.
• Ages: 7–13 years old
• Schedule: Spring Break/Summer Break weeklong day camps and Fall/Winter single day camps; all camps run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with drop-off from 7:00–8:00 a.m. and pick-up from 4:00–5:00 p.m.
• Price: Spring Break/Summer Break Weeklong Day Camp $400 (Military) and $425 (Civilian); Fall/Winter Single Day Camp $100/day (Military) and $105/day (Civilian); late pick-up fees apply after 5:00 p.m. and must be paid in cash at pick-up.
Youth Horse Camps is open to the public for ages 7 to 13, and all skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Youth Horsemanship Camp is a full day activity designed to introduce youth to the equine world with basic horsemanship and farm etiquette. Each camper is limited to 2 weeks of camp per summer, and camp reservations are first come first serve. Horse camp is described as a high-risk activity, and 100% cooperation and self-discipline are required. Campers have their own locker for storage, and helmets are required and provided, with the option to bring a personal helmet.
Families are encouraged to send a large refillable water bottle and plenty of snacks. The program does not provide refrigeration or microwaves, and a cooler is recommended to keep lunches and drinks cool. All participants must wear closed toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. It is recommended to pack a change of clothes and a bathing suit for Spring Break and Summer Camp sessions. The program states that staff will not be responsible for lost or dropped valuables and recommends that valuables be left at home.
