Dragon Academy offers before and after school programs and summer camps. The program uses the Frogstreet curriculum for children and includes curriculum based summer camps. Children are offered healthy meals and snacks and have plenty of physical activity, with classrooms and playgrounds that are video monitored and supported by a state of art security system.

• Schedule: Center hours Monday–Friday, 6:30am–6:00pm
Dragon Academy uses the Frogstreet curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. The program provides healthy meals and snacks and includes plenty of physical activity for children.
The leadership team includes Fern Pegus, Founder & Head Dragon; Donna Samples, Director; Jessica Hale, Director of Compliance; Lindsay Harrison, Director; Ms. Jessica, Director of Operations; and Kristin Autry, Director of Education. Fern Pegus has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia and has been helping small businesses for the last 18 years. She has been married to her husband for 15 years and has a 14-year-old daughter. Donna Samples has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a master’s degree in Reading & Literacy, has worked with children in the childcare industry for over 20 years, and has been a Director for over 15 years. Lindsay Harrison has an associate degree in Psychology, has taken several early childhood education courses, has worked with children of all ages for 17 years, and has 4 years of director experience. Ms. Jessica has worked in childcare for over 10 years. Kristin Autry has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education, has been in early childhood education for 31 years, and has lived in Colbert, Georgia for the past 7 years.
The stated mission of Dragon Academy is to help each unique child maximize personal growth and development, to foster a love of learning with the “little dragons,” and to offer a fun, safe and caring environment in which children can learn and grow. Fern Pegus was honored with the “Ripple Effect” award from Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs. Mrs. Pegus served on the Board of Directors for the non-profit North Gwinnett Arts Association, which educates children and adults in the arts. One parent, Mrs. Walters, shared, “We feel so blessed to have our children at Dragon Academy. We have been extremely happy with our experience and appreciate the extra care you all provide for our girls.”
