Georgia 4-H Youth Development Programs are part of UGA Extension’s 4-H Youth Development program area and include activities such as workshops, classes, consultations, certifications, camps and educator resources. UGA Extension is a collaboration between the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) and the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). UGA Extension has faculty and staff in every county across the state of Georgia and is in all 159 counties in Georgia, serving farmers, families and communities across the state. Georgia 4-H Youth Development is one of the program areas of UGA Extension. In fiscal year 2023, 4-H Youth Development had 129 agents, made 1,183,125 face-to-face contacts, conducted 19,245 programs, and had 173,505 4-H’ers. In the same year, there were 92,733 visitors to 4-H centers and 6,255 teen and adult volunteers in 4-H Youth Development. UGA Extension states that it translates the science of everyday living for families, farmers and communities to foster a healthy and prosperous Georgia. For more than a century, UGA Extension has provided research and education through a network of committed specialists, agents and volunteers. UGA Extension is an Equal Opportunity Institution.
