Camp Lakeside is a camp program operated by the nonprofit Family YMCA of Greater Augusta. It takes place at Camp Lakeside, a 100-acre camp located on Lake Thurmond.
The Greater Augusta Family YMCA has a 168-year legacy of service in the C.S.R.A. Its mission is to serve individuals and families in the CSRA through programs designed to build healthy spirit, mind and body, reflecting the values of the Judeo-Christian tradition while maintaining respect for all people. The nonprofit Family YMCA of Greater Augusta offers programs and services at more than 50 CSRA locations, including 9 program and wellness facilities and Camp Lakeside. The Family Y’s PrimeTime Afterschool program provides afterschool care at 27 Richmond, McDuffie, Aiken, Jefferson, Barnwell, and Columbia County elementary schools and 19 summer camp sites. It operates in 8 counties: Aiken, Barnwell, Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, Jefferson, McDuffie and Richmond. Since 2017, it has delivered 2,100 beds through the A Place To Dream Program and has provided 4,000,000 meals to children and adults through Cheryl’s Kitchen Food Program.
