Patriot Karate was founded in 2013 and has been training leaders in the Gwinnett and Walton communities since 2015. The program’s mission states that it is committed to empowering children through the development of self-confidence, discipline, and respect for themselves and others, and that every Patriot Karate program focuses on training leaders through building respect, discipline, and self confidence. The studio uses Patriot Karate Dedication Stars and a student creed recited at the beginning of every class, which ends with the phrase, “We are on a quest to be our best.”
All classes and camps are led by a team of expert black belt instructors described as highly credentialed, respected, and trusted by students and their families, and all programs are taught by these world-class black belt instructors. The studio is described as a state-of-the-art facility. The afterschool program is designed for 5–12 year olds, and every week of summer camp is described as a new adventure full of action-packed fun, weekly field trips, crafts, new friendships, and pizza every Friday. Families are asked to come to the studio 15 minutes before the first class to pick up the karate gi.
Parent testimonials describe Patriot Karate as catering to all ages and temperaments, with staff who reach every child and teach techniques for handling emotions on the mat, and instructors noted for kindness, teaching style, and care for each student. Other parents state that their kids love attending for afterschool, school break camps, and karate classes, and that staff create a positive learning environment that promotes fun, fair play, and discipline. One parent describes the instructors as skilled, patient, and great with children, notes that the studio is clean and well-maintained with a welcoming and positive atmosphere, and mentions a strong sense of community among students and parents.
