Camp Braveheart will take place this year from June 2–6, 2025. The program is carefully designed to help children and youth learn to cope with the complicated emotions that arise from the death of a loved one. Founded in 1995 by the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, the Braveheart Program has provided grief support to over 1000 children via the camp experience and school-based support groups. It is sponsored by the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center and funded by community and private donations. Campers should dress for outdoor fun in comfortable play clothes and tennis shoes—no Crocs or sandals—for safety, and should wear sunscreen and pack for the weather, including two changes of clothes, a bathing suit, and extra sunscreen. Camp Braveheart is facilitated by a team of licensed social workers, therapists, and trained volunteers.
