Macon Little Theatre Summer Camps offers a morning camp, a main camp, and an advanced camp that include a free parent showcase, ticketed performances, and a cabaret style performance. The program includes a morning camp, a main camp with auditions for all roles held on the first day, and an advanced camp with limited enrollment by audition only. Students are allowed to participate in both the main camp and the advanced camp.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Morning Camp runs June 1–5; Main Camp runs June 1–5 and 8–12; Advanced Camp runs June 15–19
• Price: Morning Camp fee: $145 (includes t-shirt). Main Camp fee: $195 (includes t-shirt). Advanced Camp fee: $95.
The morning camp for ages 5–8 runs June 1–5 from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, with a free parent showcase on June 5 at 6:00 pm and no auditions required. The main camp for ages 9–18 runs June 1–5 and 8–12 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, with ticketed performances the weekend of June 12–14 and a requirement that no actor may have turned 19 by June 14. The advanced camp for ages 16–22 runs June 15–19 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a cabaret style performance on June 18 at 6:00 pm and limited enrollment by audition only. Registration is open for 2026 summer camps, and a spot is not reserved until payment is received.
Macon Little Theatre opened to the public on March 14, 1934, and construction on its Forsyth Road theatre began in 1961 for its 29th season. Macon Little Theatre is described as the oldest, continuously running community theatre under the same name in the southeast and as the longest running community theatre in the entire Southeast. It is a member of the League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) and the American Association of Community Theatres (AACT). JP Haynie, who serves as Artistic Director, has an MFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Central Florida and a BA in Theatre from Mercer University, and the Board of Directors includes Sheree Keith (Chairman), Laura Dixon, Carla Gilmer, Summer Sterling Grisamore, Sylvia Haynie, Liz Hill, John P. Land, Kelley Land, Ron Marshall, Katie Miller, Frani Rollins, and Emily Stepp. Macon-based 100.9 The Creek, under Creek Media, is listed as a media sponsor.
