Club SciKidz STEM Programs for Kids was established in 1997, and beginning in 2001, Camp Young Scientist was created. Since 1997, more than 150,000 children have attended one or more of its science day camps or school programs, and in 2007 the organization established its franchise program. The program offers more than 60–70 themed science summer camps for grades PK–8th and conducts 30 weeks of inquiry-based after-school science club experiences, with science programs designed to meet the needs of children ages 4–15.

Each unit is rigorously researched by science educators with the help of teachers and children, and the lessons are designed to engage students in observation, measurement, identification of properties, and experimentation involving life, earth, and physical science concepts. Club SciKidz STEM Programs for Kids is officially accredited by STEM.org and is recognized among the Top 5% Best in STEM programs nationwide. The organization operates a franchise program in Georgia, Maryland, Texas, and Virginia, and conducts in-school programs in the Metro Atlanta area while operating multiple summer day camp locations each year in Georgia.

Owners Bob and Sue Hagan lead the program, and co-founder Bob Hagan is part of the leadership team. Bob and Sue Hagan have a combined 30 plus years of teaching experience and both hold a Master’s Degree in Education. The company states that it was founded on the principle that parents want to provide their children with exciting, challenging, and life impacting academic enrichment experiences, and it is committed to demonstrating how science works in the real world through activities in the listed subject areas. The organization states that it collaborates with trusted partners that share its mission of inspiring the next generation of scientists and innovators and expanding access to hands-on STEM learning experiences in the communities it serves.
