The U.S. Drone Soccer Association runs a youth drone sports program where students take part in drone soccer. Participants build drones, repair drones, program drones in Beta Flight, and fly drones as part of organized youth drone sports activities.

The U.S. Drone Soccer Association is a US 501(c)(3) organization with a mission focused on spreading STEM, CTE, and youth drone sports in K–12 schools. It is recognized as the governing body for drone soccer in the United States toward establishing true world ranking and world championship team status and recognition. The organization is recognized by the Academy of Model Aeronautics as the Special Interest Group for FAI F9A Drone Soccer in the United States and is a sanctioned member of the FAI World Sports Federation. Drone Sports, Inc. is the authorized equipment provider for the U.S. Drone Soccer Association.
The U.S. Drone Soccer Association is the special interest group for FAI F9A Drone Sports of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and works closely with the Academy of Model Aeronautics and the World Air Sports Federation. The U.S. Drone Soccer program is active in 28 states and in more than 225 schools and facilities across the United States. Over 750 students are registered within the program, with projected growth beyond 1,000 students engaged through 2025. The program emphasizes building, repair, coding, problem solving, and flight skills in a team environment at nationally and internationally recognized events that are run like traditional sports. It organizes national championship teams that represent the USA as FAI F9A Team USA through FAI sport licensure and official FAI F9A international event sanctioning. Team USA (Sato Mushu) took 4th place in Shanghai, China. The organization earned a 2026 Candid Gold Seal of Transparency.
Coaches describe individual student participants as taking on roles such as striker, goalkeeper, captain, and technical team member within their drone soccer teams. Coach comments highlight students who build and learn to fly their drones, work on teammates’ drones, and handle building, repairing, and programming drones in Beta Flight. Coaches also note students who coordinate practices, help with recruiting, and participate in tournaments and regional and national competitions within the U.S. Drone Soccer program.
