About

WinShape Camps offers activities such as shooting an arrow, climbing a rock wall, playing basketball, singing songs, reading the Bible, rowing a canoe, and toasting a marshmallow. Campers also take part in daily worship, music, prayer, and devotions as part of the camp experience.

• Schedule: Options include a day, a week, or two weeks, with both one-week camps and two-week camps available.

WinShape Camps offers overnight camp, family camp, and day camp experiences, along with 4 Overnight Camp Experiences in Georgia and 75+ Day Camp Experiences across the U.S. For the last 40 summers, WinShape has created camps, and over 40 years ago it launched its first overnight camp on the campus of Berry College in Rome, GA, with the first overnight camp beginning in 1985. The program serves over 30,000 campers and their families each year and engages over 30,000 campers each summer. WinShape Camps was founded by S. Truett Cathy, and its mission is to glorify God by creating experiences that transform campers and families with the message of Jesus Christ.

The camp staffs its programs with over 800 professionally trained summer staff representing 100 different colleges and universities from more than 30 states, and the staff are trained by experts. The program describes its summer staff as top-notch and notes that fantastic facilities combined with the outdoors create space for campers. Each summer, WinShape Camps brings a new theme described as epic, with the goal of helping campers learn new truths daily that they will remember long term, and each part of the day gives campers new chances to learn more about the Bible, deepen their faith, and grow in character. Camp is described as a place where friendships take root, Jesus and His Word are front and center, and the fun is non-stop, with WinShape Camps calling itself the place to spend the summer and the place for fun and faith with over-the-top intentionality.

WinShape Camps states that it creates fun and faithful places for campers and families to learn more about Jesus in a Christ-centered environment. The program is involved in more than 75 communities around the country, and WinShape Camps International works to unite local churches and communities outside the United States with the message of Jesus Christ through the experience of camp. Working with partners, WinShape Camps International runs locally led day camp experiences in Brazil and Costa Rica during the spring and summer, and the organization states that it values seeing the Lord glorified as local volunteers are empowered, communities are impacted, and campers experience Jesus.

WinShape Camps notes that its day camps bring large amounts of fun to communities and transform familiar places into a different setting. The program identifies itself as nut-aware and states that meals and snack times are nut free, asking families not to send food or snacks that contain any type of nuts, including peanuts, peanut products, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pistachios, or Brazil nuts. Snacks containing nuts are returned to the camper at the end of the session or week. All campers are required to submit a current physical and a current immunization record, which are uploaded to the camper’s CampDoc Medical Health Profile.

For medications, WinShape Camps requires blister packing for prescription medications, vitamins, and supplements, meaning all oral medications must be separated by individual doses and sealed, not stored in a bottle, sandwich bag, or pillbox. Over-the-counter medications must either be separated by individual doses and sealed in the manufacturer’s packaging, not loose in a bottle, sandwich bag, or pillbox, or be blister packed by a pharmacist.
