About
High Meadows Camp offers a rich, traditional outdoor day camp program on a beautiful property of woods and meadows. Programs include a variety of experiences based on themes inspired by early American pioneering, Native American lore, and medieval legends. The camp follows a structured, noncompetitive recreational program that focuses on self-improvement and personal responsibility, along with understanding and respect for the environment, while fostering a caring, nurturing, and child-centered community.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Three-week sessions, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (no before/after-care)
High Meadows Camp has been established since 1973. The camp’s mission states that the High Meadows community celebrates and perpetuates each individual’s quest for knowledge and skill, sense of wonder, and connection to the natural environment, and empowers each to be a compassionate, responsible, and active global citizen. The leadership team includes John Dovic, Camp Director, and Chad Brinker, Associate Camp Director. A current camp parent reports that their children have been attending High Meadows Camp for over a decade, that it is consistently a highlight of their summers, and that their children have built community and confidence, made lasting friendships with peers and counseling staff, enjoyed camp traditions, learned new skills, and had adventures they will remember for a lifetime.
