• Schedule: Camps run throughout June and July, with signature camps and specialty camps offered across 9 weeks of summer
Lead Teachers in Frederica Academy Summer Programs are at least 20 years old, supervise and ensure the safety of campers, attend training on how the programming is structured, hold an up-to-date First Aid/CPR certification or attend provided training, lead structured and planned activities with the ability to adapt to campers’ interests, foster a positive environment by helping with conflict resolution as needed, communicate with the Director and Assistant Director of Summer Programs, and assist with upkeep and cleanliness of designated areas. Camp Counselors are between 15 and 19 years old, actively monitor campers during all activities, possess a basic understanding of First Aid and hold a CPR certification, lead recreational activities as designated by the Lead Teacher, foster a positive and engaging environment, and assist in day-to-day preparations of activities. The Director of Summer Programs is Heather Day. The mission of Frederica Academy Summer Programs is to maximize adventures within the community by providing engaging and meaningful experiences to enrich the development of mind, body, and spirit. Frederica Academy Summer Programs include signature camps such as themed Little Knights for ages 3–4 and age-focused Camp Knights for students in rising kindergarten through fifth grade, with specialty camps that vary in age range and offerings each week. Outdoor learning and experiential education are emphasized at Frederica Academy. Frederica Academy is an independent, coeducational, nondenominational, college preparatory day school serving grades PreK–12 and offering education for students of all races, creeds, and nationalities, and it admits students of any race, color, national origin, religion, and sex and does not discriminate in the administration of its education, admissions, scholarship and loan, athletic, or other school-administered programs. Frederica Academy Summer Programs state that a well-rounded education is based on respect and appreciation for the local community and that the school seeks support from parents and the community in maintaining high moral and academic standards.
