The Mikell Camp and Conference Center was established in 1941. It is the Camp and Conference Center of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, Georgia, and serves people of all ages in the Diocese and its parishes, as well as other groups whose purposes complement its mission. Since 1993, its Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center program has offered hands-on environmental education for school classes, church groups, and others. The center is accredited by the American Camp Association.

The Allan Folk School at Mikell is described as one of the only folk schools in Georgia. The Chapel is available for worship and meditation, with supplies available for Holy Eucharist.
