Tybee Ballet Theatre

Tybee Ballet Theatre offers dance classes with professional dance instruction that teach a mixture of artistry, athleticism, and culture. The program includes classes in a variety of dance styles, ranging from the beginner to professional level, as well as an Adult Summer Series and weekly technique classes. Tybee Ballet Theatre also runs an adult company where contracted dancers of all ages and abilities participate in a full performance season and weekly technique classes.

Tybee Ballet Theatre has been helping Tybee Island stay educated in the performing arts since opening its doors in 2020. The studio is focused on achieving exceptional standards of dance while remaining inclusive and of service to the community, and it offers high quality instruction in a professional environment for youth and adults alike, regardless of previous experience or financial status. It believes that art lives in everyone and is not limited by the validation of social status, and it offers equal opportunities and student scholarships for all interested and committed dancers. All ages, bodies, and abilities are welcome and encouraged, with programming described as serving ages 3 to 103.

Tybee Ballet Theatre is led by Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors Kate Petit, who also serves as Ballet Mistress, and Britt Bacon, who also serves as an instructor. Auditions and contracts for the adult company are offered annually in August during the Adult Company Entry Class and Contract Meeting. The Adult Summer Series is open to ages 12 and up. Tybee Ballet Theatre is proud to help Tybee Island stay educated in the performing arts.
