Tybee Ballet Theatre offers dance classes, a Summer Camp, and a Classical Ballet Stories Camp. It is a dance education studio that includes both youth and adult instruction. Tybee Ballet Theatre has been helping Tybee Island stay educated in the performing arts since opening its doors in 2020. The studio is led by Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors Kate Petit, who also serves as Ballet Mistress, and Britt Bacon, who also serves as an Instructor. Its stated mission is to focus on achieving exceptional standards of dance while remaining inclusive and of service to the community, nurturing creativity and artistic development in a warm and positive environment. The studio states that it strives to offer high quality instruction in a professional environment for youth and adults regardless of previous experience or financial status, and that it believes art lives in everyone and is not limited by social status. Tybee Ballet Theatre offers equal opportunities and student scholarships for interested and committed dancers, and it states that all ages, bodies, and abilities are welcome and encouraged, from ages 3 to 103. The program describes itself as providing professional and inclusive dance instruction for the entire dancer and notes that auditions and contracts for the adult company are offered annually in August during an Adult Company Entry Class and Contract Meeting.
