About
Midway Kids Ministry includes worship, teaching, small groups, and a variety of fun activities. Children take part in a large group session where they sing, dance, and watch videos or skits that repeat each week’s Bible Story and each month’s Memory Verse. In Elementary, goldfish or Cheez-Its are offered during the second hour only.
• Ages: 0–11 years old
• Schedule: Weekly options on Wednesdays and Sundays at both the Bremen and Villa Rica campuses
Birth to 17 months, children are kept engaged while parents attend one of the services. Children 18 months to 2 years are taught God’s Word with fun, engaging lessons for this age group. Children 3 to 5 years attend a large group session that includes singing, dancing, and videos or skits that repeat the Bible Story and Memory Verse. Elementary children are taught three key statements: “I need to make wise choices,” “I can trust God no matter what,” and “I should treat others the way I want to be treated.” For preteens in 4th–5th grade, the emphasis is “I am growing up!” Each class is organized so kids are with others in the same grade and gender, such as kindergarten girls and kindergarten boys.
Midway Kids Ministry is part of the Next Gen Ministries, which include Kids and Student programs. Midway Church states that its mission is, “We exist to unite all generations to go make disciples of Jesus.” Core values listed by Midway Church include: “Our passion is God & His Word; It all starts with family; Every human matters; We choose to meet people where they are; Cultural diversity makes us stronger; We lead by serving; We multiply, not maintain; We live big through generosity; We fight for unity; We strive for integrity.” Midway Church is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention. Through the Southern Baptist Convention Cooperative Program, Midway Church helps support over 5,000 missionaries in 127 nations around the world. The leadership team for this area includes Leslie, who serves as Connections Director.
