About
Midway Kids Ministry includes worship, teaching, small groups, and a variety of fun activities for children. In the program, kids may sing, dance, and watch videos or skits that repeat each week’s Bible story and each month’s memory verse. Elementary kids in the second hour may receive goldfish or Cheez-Its snacks, and children go to their designated classroom during program time.
• Ages: 6 weeks old through fifth grade
• Schedule: Sunday morning and Wednesday evening options, with additional childcare during on-campus Life Groups and Life Enhancement Classes for children 6 weeks through PreK
Midway Kids Ministry states that its mission is to offer a place where children from six weeks old through fifth grade can discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. The ministry teaches children God’s Word through worship, teaching, small groups, and fun activities and states that it is committed to loving children and their families by offering care while teaching them God’s Word every week. For ages 3–5 years, there is a large group session where they sing, dance, and watch videos or skits that go over the weekly Bible story and monthly memory verse. Each class is organized so kids are grouped by the same grade and gender, such as kindergarten girls and kindergarten boys. Midway Elementary uses three focus statements: “I need to make wise choices,” “I can trust God no matter what,” and “I should treat others the way I want to be treated.” The leadership team includes Leslie, who serves as Connections Director.
