MGCAA Head Start

MGCAA Head Start is a program of Middle Georgia Community Action Agency that focuses on Head Start services. The program follows the Head Start model, which promotes school readiness of children aged 3 to 5 years by encouraging their cognitive, social, and emotional development, and it also empowers parents with resources to support their lifelong role in their child’s learning. In Wilkinson County, services through this organization only include Head Start.

Middle Georgia Community Action Agency, which operates MGCAA Head Start, is led by Executive Director Tammy Sosebee. The mission of Middle Georgia Community Action Agency, Inc. is to empower low-income individuals and families in Middle Georgia by providing comprehensive services that address immediate needs and promote long-term self-sufficiency, in collaboration with community partners. The Flint Energies Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to Middle Georgia Community Action Agency (MGCAA). Middle Georgia Community Action Agency, Inc. and Heart of Georgia Community Action Council are soliciting proposals from qualified consultants or firms to conduct a comprehensive Community Needs Assessment.
