David Odo is the director and CEO of the Honolulu Museum of Art. In October 1968, the then Honolulu Academy of Arts transformed Thomas Square Park into a cultural event called Artpark, and the institution’s name has a story dating back to its 1922 origins. The museum collaborates with the Garden Club of Honolulu for the Major Flower Show “Imagine That!” and offers school tours that include art activities, gallery exploration, and immersive learning experiences for Hawai‘i students. It hosts the Honolulu Surf Film Festival and the Honolulu African American Film Festival, and collaborates with Tori Richard on security officer uniforms and with GAMAR on a jewelry line inspired by HoMA artworks.
