• Schedule: Jun 8–Aug 14, 8:00am–6:00pm (closed July 3)

Steve & Kate's Camp states that campers choose which activities they do, whom they do them with, and for how long. The camp includes tasty meals and snacks, with no additional fees, and all-inclusive rates that cover all camp hours from 8:00am–6:00pm, snacks and lunch, and any activities. Parents can buy any number of day passes, send their child to camp on any day, and receive automatic full refunds for unused purchased Day Passes; if a Summer Pass is underused, the program refunds the difference compared to the daily rate. The program notes that no paperwork is required for age verification during registration, and that virtual camp orientation is emailed to registered families before camp with details such as drop-off and pick-up procedures, daily check-in and check-out, and what to bring. For Water Wednesday and Foam Party, campers are asked to bring a labeled swimsuit, towel, and water shoes or sandals to participate.

The program describes its mission as giving kids freedom in the summer after being in rigid structure during the year, with campers choosing their own activities, companions, and time spent at each option. Steve & Kate's Camp began in 1980 and reports that it now operates more than 70 locations, with more than 90 locations for camps overall. The Des Moines camp lists Katrina as the Director. Steve & Kate's Camp also offers mentorship programs for children aged 14 and 15, with availability that may vary by location, and runs summer day camps for kids aged 4–12, as well as holiday camps for kids ages 4–12.
