About

Iowa Soccer (Youth Soccer Programs and Leagues) includes soccer activities, referee training, and access to Soccer Parenting resources such as monthly webinars, articles, and interviews with tips, advice, guidance, and support. The program also includes participation in The Sideline Project Pledge.

• Schedule: Each Friday at Noon during the season, the list of coaches and club personnel who have passed a background check is updated.

Iowa Soccer’s mission statement is: “Our Mission: Providing soccer opportunities.” The organization is an organizational member of Soccer Parenting and has partnered with the Sideline Project. As a member of Iowa Soccer, participants may gain access to a free seven-day pass to Soccer Parenting resources by registering. Iowa Soccer no longer has a central office, and the listed address is for mailing and shipping only. Iowa Soccer encourages parents, supporters, coaches, and referees to join the Sideline Project movement by taking The Sideline Project Pledge. Iowa Soccer member clubs may choose to deepen their engagement with Soccer Parenting Association resources by investing in a club membership.

The leadership and governance team includes staff members Casey Betting (Membership Ops/Compliance Director), Dan Cataldi (Chief Executive Officer), Damien Corrieri (Player Development Director), Gareth Smith (Chief Technical Officer), Hidajet Tica (Referee & Sportsmanship Director), Mike Wilson (Member Services Program Manager), Craig Winger (Chief Member Services Officer), and Mayzi Weig (Marketing Coordinator). The board and representative roles include Michael Billings (Secretary), Caleb Brus (At-Large), Gary Buelt (President), Sandy Daack-Hirsch (Vice President), Brian Jones (Select Club Representative), Derek Lippincott (At-Large), Matt Ream (At-Large), Ray Schwichtenberg (Treasurer), and Aaron Sorensen (Recreational Club Representative). Each Friday at Noon during the season, the list of coaches and club personnel who have passed a background check is updated, and those on the list are cleared to be working with teams.
