Puentes Language Programs

Puentes Language Programs offers Conversational / Immersion Spanish Classes taught entirely in Spanish with interactive games, cultural activities, songs, crafts, food, conversation, and TPRS Storytelling. It also offers Summer Spanish Camps for Kids, Weekend Immersion Classes, Tutoring, and Travel Immersion Learning Journeys for students age 10 and above.

Programs

• Conversational / Immersion Spanish Classes — introductory and intermediate level students · Fun, intensive language experience taught entirely in the target language with interactive games, cultural activities, songs, crafts, food, conversation, and TPRS Storytelling.
• Spanish Preschool, Kinder & Daycare — Year-round · Spanish preschool and daycare offered throughout the year, including summer.
• Adult Spanish Classes — Typically 2 spring 8-week sessions; occasionally summer sessions depending on demand; typically 2 fall 8-week sessions; in-person and remote classes offered throughout the year · Conversational style classes; classes are usually conducted on most Monday holidays, with a break for Thanksgiving week and ending early December.
• Summer Spanish Camps for Kids — kids of all ages · July and August · Offered in July and August.
• Weekend Immersion Classes — Periodically throughout the year, including summer months · Immersion weekends periodically offered throughout the year.
• Tutoring — 10-19 · Customized learning to fit specific needs; one-on-one options available.
• Travel Immersion Learning Journeys — 10 and above · 7- or 10-day language learning journeys to explore culture, foods, music, and terrain in locations such as Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua; minors must be accompanied by at least one parent.
• Customized Spanish Classes — Typically at the workplace or other agreeable location; at least two hours per week recommended · Tailored classes for adults in the workplace setting; lessons, vocabulary, and content can be customized.

About the provider

Puentes Language Programs started in 2004 and says it has more than 20 years of teaching in Boise and the Treasure Valley. Trudy McGavin and Scot McGavin are the founders and co-owners, David Castro is Director and Co-owner, and Daniela Garcia is Office Manager. The program says its mission is to promote multi-cultural awareness and an appreciation of diversity through language. It also says all teachers are well-educated, with at least a 2-year degree in early childhood education or a related field.

Minors must be accompanied by at least one parent for travel language learning journeys. Classes are usually conducted on most Monday holidays, with a break for Thanksgiving week and ending early December. Preschool registration and adult class registration are available online.
